After the show it's the after party

Nominations are well underway for the 2010 MEP awards, ahead of the awards ceremony to be held in the autumn at Brussels' stylish Concert Noble.

At last count, interested parties had nominated some 100 hard-working deputies for their contribution to policy areas ranging from energy to employment, trade to transport.

The Parliament Magazine will be producing a guide detailing the achievements of nominated MEPs shortly after the 20 August closing date. Parliamentarians will then have until 10 September to vote on their peers, before preparing for the glitzy ceremony on 29 September.

One of the highlights of this year's event will be an after-party where MEPs will be able to celebrate their achievements to some disco beats. Watch this space…

Disco beats you say? Great to hear that MEPs will be able to hit the dancefloor after being bestowed (or not, in the case of the unlucky runners up) with all the honours the Parliament Magazine can throw at them. Let the party preparations commence...
