It is time for classical policy approaches to online gambling to be modernised and take into account developments in society and technology, moving away from increasingly outdated socio-economic and regulatory precepts.
Ahead of the Plenary vote on online gambling, The Parliament Magazine, in association with the EGBA, held a lunchtime discussion on the possible future scenarios for the development of online gambling in the EU, hosted by Malcolm Harbour MEP, IMCO Committee Chair. We were delighted to have John Penrose MP, the UK Minister for Tourism and Heritage with Gambling as part of his portfolio, deliver a keynote address alongside Jürgen Creutzmann MEP, Rapporteur for the European Parliament's Report.
