The countries of South Eastern Europe are set to become major tourist destinations over the coming years. Rich in cultural heritage, the region boasts some of the world's most picturesque and vibrant towns and cities. From colourful beach resorts to sleepy mountain hideaways, the region also has many of Europe's leading hotels, resorts and spas. However, much of what South East Europe has to offer is still, to some extent, unknown outside of the region and its neighbours.
The Parliament Magazine held a conference and exhibition on South East European Tourism where national tourism ministers, tourism authorities, industry representatives and key figures from the EU institutions met to discuss the major issues currently impacting on the industry in South East Europe.
The conference, covered four main areas: EU-funding, cross-border cooperation, innovation and sustainable tourism and provided a platform for discussions in a series of themed sessions.
The event also showcased the tourism activities and destinations from each country.
