Today in the EU

Environment ministers meet in Brussels today to review the EU’s energy-climate legislative package and to prepare for the international negotiations at the climate change conference in Poznan.

European commission president José Manuel Barroso gives a keynote speech today on the European Recovery Plan at the EESC plenary session in Brussels.

Transport commissioner Antonio Tajani will today hold a press conference on Passengers' rights for persons with reduced mobility.

Bulgarian minister for state administration Nikolay Vassilev today visits Commissioner for Administrative Affairs, Audit and Anti-Fraud Siim Kallas.

Parliament today hosts a visit by the Dalai Lama who, later, will appear at a news conference with president Hans-Gert Pöttering.

Glyn Ford hosts a news conference on environmental sustainability and ALDE deputy Chris Davies and Luxembourg Greens MEP Claude Turnes hold a news conference on the climate change package.

The legal affairs committee votes on a report by Italian EPP member Giuseppe Gargani on a statute for assistants while the committee on international trade hosts a public hearing on the economic partnership agreement between the EU and the Cariforum.
