President to make official visit to Spain
Hans-Gert Pöttering will be making his first official visit to Spain between 2 and 4 October, during which he will meet the Spanish Prime Minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
During his visit, Pöttering will discuss the Lisbon Treaty, the economic crisis, the situation in Georgia, the union for the Mediterranean, the Middle East peace process and the Spanish presidency of the EU in 2010.
During the visit, Pöttering will also meet the Spanish Prime Minister at the Moncloa Palace, as well as holding a meeting with Spanish minister for foreign affairs, Miguel Ángel Moratinos and holding talks with the Speaker of the Senate, Javier Rojo. The visit will end on Saturday 4 October at San Lorenzo de El Escorial.
