Double aerospace merger cleared

Brussels anti-trust regulators have given the all clear for Royal Bank of Scotland and Banco Santander Central Hispano to buy up two British aerospace engineering companies.

In two seperate merger clearance decisions, the European Commission said RBS and SCH could go ahead with plans to gain joint control of Doncasters Group Plc, which specialises in aerospace engine components, and Britax International Plc which makes aircraft interior systems.
