European Commission regulators have closed a competition inquiry into Belgian beer giants Interbrew, after the company promised changes to its pricing policy.

Interbrew is committed to revamping its rebates rewards system linked to its beer distribution practices by the end of the year.

EU antitrust authorities started an in-depth investigation into the company in 1999.
