- the successful submission for a new EU-funded IntegratedProject, Biotracer, aimed at improving the traceability ofun-intended organisms in the food chain
- central repositories for the collection of characterizedTrichinella, Cryptosporidia and Giardiaisolates and reagents.
- an authorative report for policy makers on "Towards anintegrated approach in supporting microbiological food safetydecisions"
- a collection of reports and evaluations on risk assessment inthe pre-harvest phase of food-animal production
- published recommendations for future research on VerotoxigenicEscherichia coli.
- a unique database of DNA sequences from over 170 European BatLyssavirus isolates from 8 European countries
- evaluation of the prevalence of 1 in nearly 400 Europeanisolates of Salmonella, E. coli andShigella.
- an international conference on "Priority setting of foodborneand zoonotic pathogens"
- an algorithm published enabling diagnostic and early treatmentprocedures in suspected cases of human trichinellosis
- tool development enabling the successful detection of anoutbreak of salmonella carrying the 16S RNA methylase genemediating aminoglycoside resistance.
