The "Union for the Co-ordination of Transmission of Electricity"(UCTE) is the association of transmission system operators incontinental Europe that defines the reliability standards for asafe and efficient operation of the all interconnected networksthat constitute the building blocks for robust electricitymarkets. The UCTE system extends from Lisbon to Warsaw and from Denmarkto Greece. It supplies more than 400 million people with electricenergy with an annual electricity consumption of some 2300 TWh.
