External Parliamentary Activities week

Official visit to Spain. European Parliament President Hans-Gert Pöttering travels to Spain for a series of high-level meetings with Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, opposition leader Mariano Rajoy, Foreign Minister Miguel Ángel Moratinos and others (Thursday-Saturday).
 
EP external activities. MEPs undertake a number of delegation visits of which more details are given in the main part of the Agenda.  The principal missions are summarised below.
 
Delegation to Bolivia.  The EP Delegation for relations with the Andean Community visits Bolivia, where MEPs will meet President Evo Morales and others (Monday-Friday).
 
Delegation to Ukraine. Members of the EU-Ukraine delegation will meet their counterparts as well as President Viktor Yushchenko and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko (Thursday-Friday).
 
UN General Assembly. A delegation of MEPs from the Foreign Affairs Committee will be in New York for the 63rd General Assembly of the United Nations (Thursday-Friday).
 
Kosovo. A delegation of the Subcommittee on Security and Defence undertakes a mission to Kosovo (Wednesday-Saturday).
 
Two committees go to Bulgaria. Members of the Budgetary Control Committee and the Regional Committee go to Bulgaria in connection with the use of Community funds (Monday-Wednesday).
 
Other activities of the President.  President Pöttering will be awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Olsztyn and attend the opening of the academic year at the College of Europe in Natolyn (Warsaw) (Wednesday).
