Election themes: Austria is more concerned about environmental issues ahead of elections than much of Europe, with 37 per cent saying it is their major concern. This is expected to result in another strong result from the Austrian Greens. Expected turnout on polling day is just above the EU average, and representation will drop from 21 MEPs to just 18.

Personalities: Social Democrat leader, Hannes Swoboda - wants a referendum on the constitution, and to keep Turkey out of the EU.
