Those needing to quickly find their way around the recently changed and newly expanded EU political maze need look no further than a new guide from Dod’s Parliamentary Communications, the UK’s most authoritative political publisher and Le Trombinoscope, its French equivalent.

The two titles are pooling expertise to publish Eurosource 2005, described as ‘a definitive guide to who’s who in the enlarged European Union’.

Between 60 and 80 per cent of national legislation in member countries already comes directly or indirectly from the European Union, yet finding the right contact within an EU institution can prove to be a real challenge.

Eurosource 2005 is aimed at government officials, lobbyists, corporations, charities, journalists and consultants, indeed anyone seeking improved links with institutions at European level.

The guide contains over 20,000 names with full contact details - addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers and e-mails) - along with 3400 biographies and photographs of senior officials.

Eurosource 2005 costs €250 - a special offer available until the end of July - and is available in English and French. It comprises a 150-page “Guide to the new EU” (just published), two 350-page volumes, published in October and December respectively, and a comprehensive website which goes live from July.

The guide includes forewords by Pat Cox, president of the European Parliament, Romano Prodi, president of the European Commission and Günther Verheugen, European commissioner for enlargement.

Volume one contains information on all 732 MEPs and the General Secretariat, the European Central and Investment Banks, the Committee of the Regions and the European Ombudsman. Volume 2 contains information covering the Council of the European Union (including the General Secretariat), the European Commission, the European Court of Justice, and other key bodies.

The website, www.eurosource.eu.com, complements the hard-copy volumes and includes a contact management system (including the advanced search and mail-merge facility) to allow users to search and access specific information, then export it to manage their own correspondence. Annual subscriptions cost £225.

Eurosource 2005 will be updated annually. The information it contains has been sourced directly from the institutions and people based in Brussels, Strasbourg, Luxembourg and the wider European Union.

Copies can be ordered direct from the publishers by phoning +44 207 823 2225 or by e-mail from order@eurosource.eu.com.
