Peru gets ready for EU-Latin America summit
Peru is tightening security ahead of the upcoming EU-LatinAmerica summit by setting up road blocks and transferring 6000police officers to Lima, reports the IHT.
The EU is hoping to persuade Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Mexicoand other countries in the region to join the fight against climatechange, and will also discuss trade negotiations and the globalfood crisis.
The summit starts on 16 May.
