EU investigates cement companies

EU competition authorities have begun an investigation into top world cement makers including Lafarge, Cemex and Holcim, reports the Guardian.

The offices of some of the firms have been searched as part of what they say is an EU investigation into the cement industry, although the European commission has so far declined to comment on the matter.
