Sweden unveils Europe’s greenest office block

Sweden has announced plans to build an office building that will be heated by the warmth of human bodies, Libération writes.

The building will be located next to the main Stockholm station, and the heat given off by the 250,000 people who use the station each day will be collected, recycled and pumped into the offices at a cost of just €32,000.

The engineers in charge of the project note that the station will only be able to supply 15 per cent of the heating requirements of the offices – but that the remainder will come from heat pumps and use the natural heat of the earth.
