War necessary to 'tame' Iran and Iraq, says newly uncovered Ganley paper
In a little-seen paper written in 2006, Irish businessman and anti-Lisbon campaigner Declan Ganley argued that the only way to “tame” Iran was by war, according to the Irish Examiner.
The paper quotes an extract from the text. “The fact is that if Iraq and Iran were to be tamed and security risks eliminated, full mobilisation for war would have to be carried out, complete with drafts, rationing and all of what Churchill referred to as the ‘blood, toil, tears and sweat’ that it takes to secure overwhelming victory.”
The Examiner says that Ganley, whose company, Rivada Networks, has lucrative contracts with the US military, released the text at a time when the US and Britain were considering the withdrawal of troops from Iraq.
