WTO deal closer than ever, says EU trade chief
Peter Mandelson has said the WTO is closer than ever to reaching a trade deal as negotiators in Geneva extended their deadline to reach agreement, reports the IHT.
According to the paper, the EU's trade commissioner wrote in his blog, "We are potentially closer than we have ever been to a deal, but the final steps are the hardest and still look formidable."
WTO chief Pascal Lamy suggested Wednesday that negotiators meet separately to improve chances of reaching a deal.
