Brussels criticises France over data collection
France’s controversial Edvige programme, which aims to collect and store general information about anyone likely to breach public order, has been criticised by Brussels, reports Le Monde.
Jacques Barrot, justice commissioner, has warned Paris that data should be held for the shortest possible time, especially for those over 13 and under 18.
He also said that Brussels had concerns over the compatibility of Edvige with EU rules on data collection.
