European commission pledges €500m in aid to Kosovo
The European commission has pledged €500m at a donors' conference for Kosovo, reports the IHT.
Enlargement commissioner Olli Rehn said on Friday that the aid money would go towards helping to build up Kosovo's government institutions and help construct new schools, roads and electricity plants.
It is hoped that the donor conference, being held in Brussels, will raise the requested €1.5bn towards developing the region.
